Why I Wanted to Read This:
The synopsis caught my eye and I was lucky enough to win an ARC. Here's the synopsis from GoodReads:In a discontent kingdom, civil war is brewing. To unify the divided people, Conner, a nobleman of the court, devises a cunning plan to find an impersonator of the king's long-lost son and install him as a puppet prince. Four orphans are recruited to compete for the role, including a defiant boy named Sage. But Sage's rivals have their own agendas as well.

What I Liked (& Didn;t):
The first part of this review will be my thoughts as I am reading it:
*You just know that Sage has what it takes to become the prince. And that he is totally holding something back. My prediction is that he can read and is playing his ignorance up.
*I am loving this but I can just feel the twists are coming! In fact, halfway in I have a thought. A really big thought. That is kind of growing into a hunch. If I am right it will be amazing. If I am wrong I still think this is amazing so far. (I was right).
*Sage is awesome. Just awesome. He remain me a little of Eugenides but not as subtle. He is young though.
*I just worry for all of the servants in Conner's manor. I am afraid everyone is going to have to die.
I just finished this book so it is all really fresh in my mind. I want to go back and read it again right now. It was so good!! I totally fell in love with Sage. Even though the timeline of the book is only two weeks it did not drag. There are villains, people who are probably villains, heroes, girls, orphans, kingdoms, princesses, wars, pirates. This book has it all!
To Sum Up: Highly recommended! I can't wait to booktalk this one--so many of my readers will love it!
