On Tuesday I listed some MG reads I am looking forward to. Yesterday I got one of them in the mail--I had won it in a contest!
I love requesting and getting ARCS, but I love winning them even more. You see, when I win one, the pressure to get it read and reviewed in a timely fashion is off. This January I made myself a goal to not request ARCs but I could request them from NetGalley. Well, that was before there were quite so many publishers on there and before I started getting auto-approved for things. My Nook feels heavy with all the great ARCs I have! But the problem with egalleys is that they expire after a certain amount of time. So, if I really want to read and review it I have to get on it!
When I win a book the pressure is off and I can read and review it without a time limit. But this one, I might just bump to the top of my TBR because I am so excited to get it read!
What's at the top of your TBR today?
Of Poseidon by Anna Banks which will be published on May 22 and is the first of 4 books I have with May 22 release dates. It is only on top because Hemlock by Kathleen Peacock which releases May 8 hasn't gotten to my house yet. I love Amazon Vine but should look at publication dates more closely before requesting an ARC.
ReplyDeleteAmazon Vine sounds so cool but I already feel like I have too much "assigned" reading! The catch 22 of book blogging!!
DeleteAnd four May 22 books?! Wow, good luck!! Read on!
You were just saying you wanted this one! Awesome! :D Congrats!
ReplyDeleteIt's so cool when it works out that way!
DeleteAnd I totally agree. It's SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better to read them.
ReplyDeleteOh, I got this one, too! I squealed when I opened it and discovered what it was. Great minds . . . :)
ReplyDeleteI totally squealed as well!
DeleteMax thought I was nuts.
He understand though.
I have it too. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for it but think I am going to wait for this summer to read it. The cover makes me think that it would be a good summer book!
