Armchair BEA: Best of 2011

I had two books that I was looking most forward to when 2011 started:

Due to an amazing person at Random House and another equally amazing person at Simon & Schuster I was lucky enough to ARCs of both of them. I read, finished and reviewed The Penderwicks (sigh), but have been holding off Dust & Decay till summer (because when it's over it's over and I want don't want it to be over).

However, this being the publishing world I must say that I have discovered a few other books I am super excited for...

*Bridge to Neverland by Dave Barry & Ridley Pearson: I love these books and was thrilled to find the egalley available on NetGalley!

*Forever by Maggie Steifvater: can't wait to see how this series ends!

*Shelter by Harlan Coben: I love this kind of book and I read the first chapter on line. Looks pretty good!

*Everything on It by Shel Silverstein: I am counting the days for this one!

There are so many amazing books coming out this year that it is hard to narrow it down to just a few. These are the ones that stick most out in my mind and ones I will be buying for my personal and my school library!

I can't wait to see what your 2011 picks are as well!

  5. My friends and I all blog about different types of books. Beverly the Other Half-Invisible Turtle has been wanting to read the Penderwick series for a long time and, with the release of this third book, she’s likely to get on those soon. She’s also looking forward to the new Kevin Henke’s book, JUNONIA. Penny C. Monster has been excited about WRAPPED by Jennifer Bradbury and BREATH OF AN ANGEL, the first of an intended trilogy by Karyn Henley. Top of her list is the July release of RETURN TO DAEMON HALL: EVIL ROOTS by Andrew Nance. I don’t know how she can read books like that. They give me nightmares. Morzant the Alien has a thing about zombies and will be reading THE DEAD by Charlie Higson. As for me, BEAUTY QUEENS by Libba Bray and DARTH PAPER STRIKES BACK by Tom Angleberger—I loved the first book, THE STRANGE CASE OF ORIGAMI YODA. And those are just a few. There are a ton of books coming out that we can’t wait to read.

  6. Bigfoot:
    Good choices!
Beverly will not be disappointed with The Penderiwcks (any of them). They are awesome!
I couldn't finish The Enemy so I don't think I will be reading The Dead but if Morzant like zombies he really needs to try Rot & Ruin. FANTASTIC book!
And both of your choices are on my list!

    Thanks for stopping by!

Kristyn: give Rot & Ruin a try, it is so good!

  13. You do know there are two more books after Dust and Decay, right? :) Jonathan confirmed it when I had my interview with him not too long ago. No need to stave off the awesomeness any longer. ^_^
