Pre-Tween Tuesday: Clementine and the Family Meeting by Sara Pennypacker

4 super darling pink frosted cookies!

Cover Love:
Marla Frazee is one of my favorite illustrators. I adore her work! So, yes, I love the cover (and I love the colors, orange is one of my favorites too).

Why I Wanted to Read This:
I adore Clementine! I was excited to read this new installment in her series. Here's the synopsis from Good Reads:
Clementine's having a nervous breakdown. The FAMILY MEETING! sign is up in her house, and she just knows she's in trouble for something. Has she been too mean to her little brother? Too sloppy? Eating too much junk food? Try as she might to find out what's on the agenda, her parents won't reveal anything before the meeting. As far as Clementine is concerned, the agenda should be something like: "We're getting a gorilla." But no, it's something entirely different. "We're talking about a new baby," says her father. "A brother or sister for you two. What do you think about that?" NO THANKS! is what Clementine thinks. After all, four is the perfect number for a family. There are four sides to a table, not five. Will Clementine learn to make room for one more?

I Kept Reading Because: It's Clementine and she is adorable!.

What I Liked (& Didn't):
I love that Clementine did some growing in this book. She and her brother kind of forged a new friendship in preperation for the new baby that will be coming into the family. It was nice for her (& us) to see her brother as a little older person.

I liked how Margaret has changed, but I do hope Clementine gets a new friend in a future book, one more like her.

Every time I read this I think of one little friend in my life. She reminds me of Clementine in certain ways. Like, she always wears knit hats and her relationship with her father. I adore her relationship with her father.

I just adore this whole little family! These books always give me a boost of joy.

To Sum Up: If you want to read something that will just make you smile pick up a Clementine book!

Ebook from NetGalley and Disney. Thanks!
