Review: She's So Dead to Us by Kieran Scott

4 awesome chocolate chip/brownie bars.

Cover Love:
Yes. I love the font and the picture of one girl off on her own.

Why I Wanted to Read This:
It just had a really good synopsis! Here it is from Good Reads:
Perfect, picturesque Orchard Hill. It was the last thing Ally Ryan saw in the rear-view mirror as her mother drove them out of town and away from the shame of the scandal her father caused when his hedge fund went south and practically bankrupted all their friends -- friends that liked having trust funds and new cars, and that didn't like constant reminders that they had been swindled. So it was adios, Orchard Hill. Thanks for nothing.

Now, two years later, Ally's mother has landed a job back at the site of their downfall. So instead of Ally's new low-key, happy life, it'll be back into the snake pit with the likes of Shannen Moore and Hammond Ross.

But then there's Jake Graydon. Handsome, wealthy, bored Jake Graydon. He moved to town after Ally left and knows nothing of her scandal, but does know that he likes her. And she likes him. So off into the sunset they can go, right? Too bad Jake's friends have a problem with his new crush since it would make Ally happy. And if anyone deserves to be unhappy, it's Ally Ryan.

I Kept Reading Because: I got very caught up with Jake and Ally!

Romance?: Yes. A very good one.

What I Liked (& Didn't):
I really liked Ally. She was strong and not willing to let her old friends walk all over her.

Jake shows promise but was way too worried about what people thought about him. He has way more of his mother in him than he would ever want to admit.

UGH. I hated Shannen and Faith. I seriously have never met a girl or woman who could actually be that bitchy to someone's face. It was amazing.

I liked the texts or instant messages inserted between each chapter and I liked that we got to see both Ally and Jake's points of view, and I liked both of their voices. I liked how we would hear them thinking one thing, but then sometimes they would do or say something opposite to what they were thinking. They were both very realistic teens!

To Sum Up: Well written and easy to read teen romances with two character to cheer for!

Book from personal library.

  4. I read it on the bus when I was on my son's history trip. It went fast, I started it around 1:00 and finished that night, taking a few breaks for sight seeing. Plus, Jake is just the best name for a teen crush (Jake Ryan anyone?!). I am reviewing book #2, He's So Not Worth It next week.

  5. I read this one awhile ago and liked it too. I've wondered about the sequel-thanks for reminding me about the story and thanks to Jana for giving me the title of the next one. I'll add it to my list.

I couldn't believe how bitchy the girls were but I'm sure it happens that way.
