Review: Demonglass (Hex Hall #2) by Rachel Hawkins

5 super good frosted sugar cookies (you know the Lofthouse ones with the thick pink frosting--yum!).

Cover Love: Yes! It looks like Sophie has accepted herself and is confident in who she is. Plus, it fits along with the first picture.

Why I Wanted to Read This:
Well, I LOVED Hex Hall (read my review), which ended on a huge cliffhanger, so I was super excited to read this one! Here's the synopsis from Amazon:

Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch.
That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.
Turns out, Sophie’s a demon, one of only two in the world—the other being her father. What’s worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyone she loves. Which is precisely why Sophie decides she must go to London for the Removal, a dangerous procedure that will destroy her powers.
But once Sophie arrives she makes a shocking discovery. Her new friends? They’re demons too. Meaning someone is raising them in secret with creepy plans to use their powers, and probably not for good. Meanwhile, The Eye is set on hunting Sophie down, and they’re using Archer to do it. But it’s not like she has feelings for him anymore. Does she?

I Kept Reading Because:
It was awesome. There was no chance of putting this one down.

Romance?: Yes!

What I Liked (& Didn't):
I liked the additions to the mythology, more history to the whole Prodigium/Eye conflict.

Wow, I couldn't figure out who the villain was! It totally came from out of nowhere for me!

I LOVE Archer and the new guy that is a possibility of love for Sophie--how can a reader choose between two great guys!!

I don't like how Jenna never gives Sophie the benefit of the doubt, she is pretty quick to judge some situations without hearing Sophie out. Then Sophie takes the blame on herself when she doesn't need to.

So much happens in the last fourth of the book that I was turning pages almost faster than I could read! And again, huge cliffhanger.

To Sum Up: Write fast Rachel! I can't wait for the third one.

Book requested and sent from Disney/Hyperion. Thanks so much!!
