Spring Reading Challenge 2009

I am going to join the spring reading challenge from Callapidder Days. I like challenges and since I am planning on reading bunches anyway, why not put it out there? For those of you coming here from the challenge list a couple of things about me--I am an elementary school librarian so the majority of the books on my list will be young adult/upper elementary. My list will change as the season goes. Right now I have 20 on my list, but I know that some will be added and some will be deleted. For now, here's what I got planned:

I am super excited about a few of those (The Last Olympian, Fablehaven: The Dragon Sanctuary) but I know I will discover some gems from the ones I haven't given as much thought to. This should be fun!

Finished:
1. The Other Side of the Island by Allegra Goodman (3/22)
2. Dragon Slippers by Jessica Day George (3/27)
3. The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod: Eighth Grade Bites by Heather Brewer (3/30)
4. Steel Trapp: The Challenge by Ridley Pearson (4/10)
5. The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary Pearson (4/7)
6. Shadowed Summer by Saundra Mitchell (4/6)

*this wasn't on my list, but it got turned in by one of my students and I just picked it up and whipped through it. It was okay*

Oh, how have I missed hearing about The Mad Scientists' Club for my JediBoy? I must track those down immediately! I'd love to hear what you think of them.

  3. Looks good - lots of variety to keep you busy this spring! My 10-year-old just started The Sword Thief tonight and is already engrossed in it. I'm sure he'll be looking for book 4 in The 39 Clues as soon as it comes out. Thanks for being part of Spring Reading Thing '09!
