My very favorite thing about being a librarian is when a book comes in that a kid has been waiting for and I get to take it down to them. The look of pure joy on their face is so awesome. I told one teacher that I feel like The Book Fairy (I have to make a costume for this for next Halloween).
So imagine this: there are 30+ kids on my Diary waiting list. I have three copies. The first three went out on Tuesday, one of them came back today. When I went down to give it to the next student on the list she started cheering. It was like she'd won the lottery. And all the others moaned with jealousy.
I love that.
