My Thoughts: Epic Fail by Claire LaZebnick

4 yummy snickerdoodles.

Cover Love:  Yes.  I actually like this!  It is eye catching and make you want to pick it up to see what it's about!

Why I Wanted to Read This:
I bought this e-book when it was on sale and was in the mood for a contemporary teen read!  Here's the synopsis from GoodReads:

At Coral Tree Prep in Los Angeles, who your parents are can make or break you. Cast in point:

- As the son of Hollywood royalty, Derek Edwards is pretty much prince of the school - not that he deigns to acknowledge many of his loyal subjects.
- As the daughter of the new principal, Elise Benton isn't exactly on everyone's must-sit-next-to-at-lunch list.

When Elise's beautiful sister catches the eye of the prince's best friend, Elise gets to spend a lot of time with Derek, making her the envy of every girl on campus. Except she refuses to fall for any of his rare smiles and instead warms up to his enemy, the surprisingly charming social outcast Webster Grant. But in this hilarious tale of fitting in and flirting, not all snubs are undeserved, not all celebrity brats are bratty, and pride and prejudice can get in the way of true love for only so long.
Romance?: Yes!

My Thoughts:
I didn't realize this was a retelling of Pride and Prejudice!  It's pretty apparent quickly that it is, but I didn't get that from the synopsis.  I have not read a re-imagining of Pride and Prejudice that I disliked!  This one is no exception.

It has all the elements--stuck up boy, intelligent girl, sisters, a charming creep, a brother and sister, and annoying parents.  That was my only problem with this book--Elise's mom is the principal of their new school, but she was just too much of an idiot to be a principal, I felt.

But, I loved Elise and Derek and their path to relationship.  It was a great, familiar ride, one that I loved taking and would do it again!

To Sum Up:  I will be buying a hard copy for my library!  Great romance, as always.
