Library Week

School is winding down here in Montana.
And when you are a librarian and school is winding down there is A LOT of work.
You have to get all the books turned in.
Then you have to track down the books that kids haven't turned in.
Then you have to cry over the books that you just ordered that got lost during the year.
Then you have to get pissed about the books that you just ordered that got lost during the year (then you have to add a new copy to your fall order).
There is also weeding and tons of shelving and organizing of books after the aides shelf them wrong.
At any rate, it's a busy time of year.
(& I just made one kid cry because I said he couldn't check out any more books--I am glad he wants to read but I want them all turned in!)
So, I am taking the week off of blogging.

But, I am reading some great books I will review soon and I get to participate in the ONE FOR THE MURPHY'S blog tour next week and then summer is coming up and all it happy, happy!

See you next week!

  1. I'm a librarian, also and I can so relate...your post made me laugh! Our last day is tomorrow and I have a TO DO list a mile long! Good Luck winding up your year...enjoy your summer!

    1. Isn't it awful? When I look at my list I think, this can wait till fall. Then fall comes and I forget all about it until the next spring when I am closing it out! Oh well, I wouldn't trade this job for anything!

  2. I, too, am busy trying to track down books that are lost - soon after they were purchased! Frustrating. But, summer is just around the corner! YAY!!!!

    1. It just makes me sad. But I want the kids to have the books...there is no easy answer! The ones that get me are the ones that check out a brand new book then move away with it a week later. That happens way more than I would have realized!

  3. Hang in there.

    Sounds gorgeous!

    1. Montana is gorgeous, but right now it's cloudy and windy and rainy. But, I am in NW Montana by Glacier Park and it truly is awesome!
