The Book That Changed Your Life

I know that some of you have books that changed the way you read. Like Harry Potter or Twilight made you realize that even though you were an adult, you could still read and love MG and YA fiction.

But, I am talking about the book someone tells you that you have to read because it will change your life. I can think of a few in the past years I have been told that about: The Shack and Three Cups of Tea come right into my mind.

I haven't read either of those.

Here's why, I don't really want my life to be changed. I like it the way it is.

So what about you? Is there a book that truly changed your life? Or is there a book you avoid because you don't want to change your life?

  2. I don't know if it was life changing, but each time I'm getting a bit too serious, feeling a little ashamed for liking something that's made for kids, I remember The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupéry, about adults being so serious. It remind me that it's important to me to keep that young part of me with me all the way through adulthood.

  3. Have to say that after I studied Fahrenheit 451 freshman year of high school, it really spooked me out and I NEVER leave the television on for noise. In fact, I don't like turning the television on and watch very little. It's a great book, and while it won't change your life, it's worth reading.

  4. Lyra: That is an awesome book for that message!

Ms. Yingling: I have never read that book. I didn't have to in high school so I just never have. Might have to give it a try...
