What can keep five middle schoolers busy (and laughing) in a crowded van? What can keep a talkative and active fourth grader quiet and focused for over thirty minutes?
You got it! The newest Diary of a Wimpy Kid Do-It-Yourself book.
When I heard that there was going to be a new edition of this book I wasn't going to buy it because we already had the old versions. I was surprised with a copy in the mail, though and was so glad I got it!
Besides the obvious fact that it keeps whoever is using it entertained, I have found another excellent benefit for having more than one copy. It is like a diary for my children. I have two boys and neither of them keep diaries. But now I have a little slice of their lives saved that both they and I can reflect back upon someday.
My younger son Max is the one that has been filling this one out the most. Sometimes he is silly when he fills out a page and sometimes he is serious. Either way, I love reading over what he has done. His pages make me smile. Someday when he is older I will cherish these books!
Thanks so much for sending me this Laura! We loved it.
Tween Tuesday is hosted by Sarah, the GreenBeanTeenQueen. Thanks Sarah!
Scott is loving this too! I'm doing a post over the weekend. :-)
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, they are so funny. I got the new do it yourself for my nephew for his birthday, he's going to love it :)

The Book Buff: Book Reviews for Regular People
What a great idea! Plus it builds the creative side rather than just watching DVD's in the car. :)
ReplyDeleteYou know it might be fun to do a wimpy kid event at the library and have a couple of these for a draw! Glad your kids are filing them up!
