Broken Nook/Broken Heart

Last Friday night I dropped my Nook and it broke. Gone, no more, totally broke. To make matters worse I am not covered for "drops." To rub even more salt in the wound I had just gotten the newest Simon & Schuster April Galley Grab email. AND, I was 2/3 of the way done with The Summer of Firsts and Lasts and it expired on Monday.

I was devastated. DEVASTATED!!!

Then I started looking on the bright side. I could save up and buy a new one. That would be ok.

It was also kind of a relief. I have a lot of NetGalley books to read and some S&S books to read (I seem to read a lot of those because they do expire on their release date). But, I also have a bunch of print books to read--ARCs, personal books and a bunch I have ordered for my library that I want to read. So, now I get to focus on those.

But the best thing is that I have been hearing a lot about the Nook Color. So I decided that as long as I am saving up, I will just save up for that one. AND, my birthday is on Monday so I still have time to tell everyone I just want money or a B&N gift card for my bday!

I think everything will work out just fine.

I am still sad though.

  1. I understand your pain. I was without my kindle for 2 weeks, just got it back yesterday. What helped me was I got Squaretrade insurance, and it covers drops. 35 dollars covers two years. I thought it was a bargain.
