My Thoughts: After Eden by Helen Douglas

4 yummy double chocolate chip cookies.

Cover Love:  It's fine.  Nothing too eye catching, but not too bad either.

Why I Wanted to Read This:
The synopsis just caught my interest right away.  Time travel, sci-fi, romance.  All the hallmarks for me!  Here it is from Good Reads:
The day Eden met Ryan changed her world forever. Actually, not just her world. Ryan has time traveled from the future to save the world. In a few weeks, Eden’s best friend Connor will discover a new planet—one where human life is possible. The discovery will make him famous. It will also ruin the world as we know it. When Ryan asks Eden for help, she must choose between saving the world and saving her best friend’s greatest achievement. And a crush on Ryan complicates things more than she could have imagined. Because Connor is due to make the discovery after the girl he loves breaks his heart. That girl is Eden.
Romance?: Yes!

My Thoughts:
The thing I liked about this was how original it was. Yes it is about a new planet and time travel, nothing new there, but how Connor's discovery destroys our our planet was a very interesting twist.

So, since this review is called my thoughts I am going to lay out some questions I had after reading this, however, the questions might contain SPOILERS, so if you haven't read it, stop this now.  Just know that it is a worthwhile read and one that I will be buying for my library.  It would be fun to have a book club with this one, so many discussions could be had!  (To protect the innocent, highlight the below area to read the questions).

SPOILERY Questions:

*So, they stopped Connor from discovering Eden.  Wouldn't that have impacted Ryan's grandpa's discovery of time travel?  I fully expected Ryan, Cassie and Ben to be stuck in the past.  I just think there would've been a ripple effect with that!

*I don't think that any of Connor's descendants would've agreed to this.  I know it saved the planet and was for the greater good, but they had to know how much it would impact their lives!  Connor probably wouldn't have ended up wealthy or famous.

*Cassie made too many veiled references to knowing Ryan in a more intimate way.  There has to be more to that story that wasn't covered!

That's not all the questions I had, but the ones I can think of now.  It's that whole time travel story again, what do we change when we travel back in time.

To Sum Up:  Sweet romance and an interesting story with plenty of food for thought.  Good stuff!!
